Green Village Ventures

The World (a few exceptions notwithstanding) is finally starting to take notice of the issue of Climate Change and is attempting to counter it.

Governments, NGO's & companies are making an effort worldwide, but many of their well-designed projects fail due to the lack of involvement of communities in the project framework. Communities should experience a sense of ownership, binding them to the project, in order for the project to have any chance of success.

Sustainability is the key. If you want your project to be successful, you have to "meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs". This is true both on an economic, environmental and social level. A project needs to reach into and work from within the community in order to be successful.

Green Village Ventures explores this way of thinking, in which villagers are not spectators but participants, working towards their own future.

The GVV Projects aim to be sustainable and promote local indigenous knowledge. Technological advancements such as Communal Biogas Plants, Improved Cooking Stoves & Fuel Switch along with socially responsible endeavours such as infrastructure development & improvement are the key. GVV promotes solar lanterns and CFLs, organizes free health camps and assists in the building of schools and hospitals.

The GVV look on things is very simple and straightforward.
  1. To empower communities through various development projects by implementing local participation.
  2. To bring communities to the table as local partners and to undertake projects through use of local knowledge.
  3. To observe and be part of the change through a bottom up and not trickle down approach

GVV believes in Change. One village at the time.
